Cut-outs

My interest with cut-outs started when I was asked to create several pictures for an auction that the school of my children was organising. The aim was to raise money for a new, bigger school building. I came up with the idea of making pictures partly drawn and partly cut out of paper. The auction was a success - so they made another one, and by then I was so much into this new technique that I created also some pictures just for fun...

This was an interesting assignment not only because of the new technique. The theme was something unusual as well. The auction's purpose was to raise money for buying various construction materials or appliances for the building-to-be - and these had to be represented on the illustrations. Hence subjects such as a water closet, a firehose, cables or even 10 square meters of concrete.
