Most boys have a mother. Polek’s mother is a little bit… different. She fights for the rights of the monsters in computer games, sets up her son’s birthday party on a pirate-infested schooner and saves him from the clutches of televised doppelgangers. This book is one of my favorites, not only because it’s good, but also because it was written by my wife 🙂. This is the second edition – the first featured Zuzanna’s own illustrations, so it was really a great challenge to create something that would be at the same time fitting for the text and different from her drawings…
